As per the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988,the vehicles, Maruti Ertiga and Eeco Van does not meet the seating capacity requirements for Maxicab as mentioned in Sec 2(22), registration of the vehicles as Maxicab can not be processed in Vahan 4.0 Software.
However, as per STA Meeting Dt. 19.02.2024, and in accordance with The Central Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, Sec 2 (25), Maruti Ertiga and Eeco Van are hereby given permission to register as 'Motorcab'.
